How Karma binds

Explained with an anecdote from my own life.

I order food from a restaurant here in Pune. It’s my go-to place whenever I am not in the mood for cooking, which is mostly lately.

Bear with me for the details.

So, they have two options for ordering delivery. I can either order from zomato or directly from their website. If I order from their website, it’s cheaper.

This person is generally very kind whenever we speak on calls for customization and order issues. But there is one persistent issue if I order from their website. That is that the delivery person almost always asks me for payment again though I had pre-paid. I have to go through the hassle of giving him the restaurant contact and asking them for payment.

One time, I mentioned it to the restaurant owner, and he said, ‘Ma’am, In that case you order from zomato.’ I simply replied, ‘Okay’.

Now, mentally, I have two options.

Either to start a chain of thoughts that looks something like, ‘Why did he speak so bluntly ? Otherwise, he is so thoughtful.’

‘Why is this restaurant not taking care of this issue? Don’t they care for their customers?’ etc.

Or I accept.

With acceptance, I would accept, this is how it is. I mentioned it once, that’s it. I cannot do anything more than that. Now it’s my choice, whether to order from their website or zomato or whatever suits me, keeping in mind that this extra hassle I would have to go through.

What do you think, which kind of response would bind me to karma in this situation ?

Of course, the first one. So, I consciously keep myself aware of keeping my mental train in check, every time I have to order from their website directly (sometimes zomato is busy).

Choose wisely.
